A.D. Teaser (CG zombie movie)

posted by Freddy

Check out this teaser for a CG Zombie movie, it looks pretty nicely done and I really like the design of the zombies in it. Looking forward to hearing more about this.

Also, here’s an interview from the people behind it. No mention of when it’s coming out or who’s working on it though.

The Oscar nominees for 2010 have been posted. Looks like Up is nominated for Best Picture and Best Animated Feature which is pretty awesome considering the last animated feature film to be nominated for Best Picture was Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Check out the entire list of nominees below:

Benjamin Button on fxguide

posted by Freddy

After watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (great movie by the way!), I’ve been wanting to know how they pulled off the aging effects for the film. To me, it worked seamlessly and there wasn’t a part that took me out of the movie. To see him from transforming from old to young was amazing and I have to say congrats to the studios involved!

Below is a link to an article on fxguide where they discuss the aging effects in the movie. It’s really interesting to see how they pulled it off.

fxguide – The Curious Case of Aging Visual Effects

Excerpt from the article: “But even those with an appreciation of the power of vfx will be stunned to learn that for the first 52 minutes of this epic motion picture, the head of Brad Pitt’s character is a CGI creation. “

First of the month

posted by Freddy

You know what this means? Seriously…do you know what this means to the world of animation?!

It means a new audio clip at the 11 Second Club!!  ;)

This month’s clip clip sounds like it would be so much fun to animate. If only I hadn’t started my dialogue shot, I would’ve loved to take a crack at this one. Ah well…perhaps next month the planets will align and I’ll be able to give it a shot.
